Hull-based Connexin is set to win the race to offer the UK’s first nationwide IoT network.

Connexin promises to continue delivering “carrier-grade” connectivity over its Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) as the company expands beyond its current regional deployments.

Existing trials of Connexin’s network have been held with organisations including Yorkshire Water, Hull City Council, and Amey.

Following the success of those earlier trials – in addition to securing major investment – Connexin is now ready to expand its IoT network across the country.

Last year, IoT Breakthrough – an independent organisation recognising the top companies, technologies and products in the global market – awarded Connexin ‘Smart City Deployment of the Year’ for a Newcastle smart road pilot.

Connexin went on to deliver a purpose-built smart city operating system for Hull Council. Earlier this year, Connexin helped Amey implement the CityOS platform to improve highway maintenance services across Sheffield.

A more detailed timeline for the expansion of Connexin’s LoRaWAN network is not yet available. We’ve reached out to Connexin and have been assured the next few areas will be announced within the next couple of months.
